When a rainstorm prevents Nancy and her best friend, Robert, from getting to the planetarium the night of a class field trip, she has a brilliant idea for making things better.

When Nancy's friend Bree gets some glittery glasses to help her see better, Nancy, who likes to be fancy, wants to wear glasses too.

Preparing for picture day at school by choosing just the right outfit, Nancy wonders how she should style her hair and considers pigtails, a bun, and long ringlets before formulating a plan that has her reaching for the scissors.

Embarking on a field trip to an apple-picking farm, Nancy enjoys the fancy autumn colors she observes in the orchard and resolves to find a perfect Gala apple for her father but fears the fruit of her choice is too far out of reach.
