The young elephants want to prove who is the fastest, so Elmer and Wilbur organise a race. Each decorated a different colour, the racers set off around the course and discover things about themselves - Blue may be first and Orange second, but White is kind, Pink and Violet are funny and Yellow is a cheat. Luckily Yellow also learns he is very good at saying sorry, so each young elephant gets a medal from Elmer.

When Elmer the patchwork elephant and his cousin Wilbur decide to go whale-watching, as their grandfather Eldo did at their age, their journey becomes far more of an adventure than they anticipated.

Elmer, Wilbur, and a brave troop of elephants set out on a quest to find the famous Lost Treasure of the jungle. When they stumble across a beautiful forgotten temple, Elmer's friends rush inside, eager to find the Lost Treasure before them, but Elmer appears to have stopped searching.

When Elmer the patchwork elephant learns that a bully is bothering the smaller birds, he devises a plan to teach the bully bird a lesson.

"As Elmer the patchwork elephant is strolling through the jungle, he hears a cry for help. A butterfly is trapped. Elmer easily frees her. She promises to help Elmer. But how can a butterfly ever help an elephant?"--

Elmer the elephant enlists his animal friends to help him find the end of a strange, colorless rainbow so that he can share some of his patchwork colors and make it right.

Two friends of Elmer the patchwork elephant want to play a trick on him with help from Snake, but Snake and Elmer have plans of their own.

When the hippos' river dries up and they move into the elephants' river, Elmer, the patchwork elephant, investigates. He discovers the hippos' dry river could be fixed if the hippos and elephants drop their prejudices and work together.

It's bedtime, and Elmer's looking after two baby elephants. But how will he get them to sleep? A good walk will do it, Elmer thinks. But as they walk past their friends, everyone in the jungle seems to think he should tell them a bedtime story, and they each have their own favorites. What's yours?

Elmer the patchwork elephant distracts his animal friends from noticing Super El's torn costume until he can escort him to Aunt Zelda who mends Super El's clothes.
